Ningwakwe Learning Press is accepting applications

for the following short-term contracts:

HOW TO APPLY:

►The author will work closely with the NLP Curriculum Development task team to establish an appropriate methodology and to ensure that the vision and cultural integrity of the material is maintained throughout the entire process.

► To write the content for a manuscript in clear language.

Qualifications:

► Professional experience in writing in literacy, plain/clear language

► Ability to work independently from a distance

► Attention to detail in writing

► Adhere to strict deadlines. No tolerance for missing deadlines.

► Ability to take direction from and work well with a reference group

► Relevant experience in Aboriginal literacy and/or education

► Knowledge of adult learning principles (LBS levels and Essential Skills)

► Excellent oral and written communication skills

► Knowledge of Aboriginal communities and issues

► Must have computer access, internet, phone/fax in order to work from a distance

► All manuscripts will need to be completed within 6-9 months with work plans and deadlines negotiated as part of the contract.

Please document your expertise/knowledge of the specif topic you are applying for.

Preference will be given to individuals of Aboriginal descent.

2.  One writing sample that is representative of your writing style.

3.  A curriculum vitae/resume.

► All submissions will be subject to review by a panel of reviewers.

► All submissions should be double-spaced, paginated and cleanly printed. If you need material returned, you must enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope large enough to hold the submission.

► Email copies are accepted.

► All 3 items MUST be included.
